Priorat is known for its great red wines, and on this tour I will take you to two of my favorite wineries in this region.

The vineyards in Priorat are grown on terraced hillsides, with very poor soil, and this is one of the reasons why the wines from here have won several awards for excellent wine. But what has terraced vineyards and poor soil has to do with good wine?

After picking you up from your location in Barcelona, we will drive through this beautiful landscape with all its vineyards where we will first visit a winery located in the heart of Priorat.

This winery has spectacular views overlooking Priorat and the Montsant mountain. This is a very nice and elegant winery that produces wines a bit different from the other wineries here. This winery has specialized itself on making wines that are a bit more light and fruity in its flavor. They have also won awards for these great wines.

We will walk through their terraced vineyards before going back to the winery where you will see and be explained how their wine is produced. We will also see all their barrels lying in the cellars just waiting to be ready.

At the end of the tour you will of course be able to try two of their red wines.

After this visit I'm sure you will be hungry, so I will take you to a great restaurant in the medieval village just nearby.

This is a very charming village where you also will have time to stroll around.

Here you will enjoy a typical Spanish/Catalan lunch accompanied with great wine, from Priorat of course!

After lunch it's time to visit our second winery. This winery is actually located in the village, just like so many of the wineries in Priorat.

This winery is an old family run winery, very different from our first winery visit.

Here we will go deep down into their wine cellars, soak in all the great aromas from the barrels, and discover how they make their wines.

At the end of the tour you will be able to try 3 different wines.
